I only just realised that at the beginning of the year I never posted my most highly anticipated books for 2018. So I decided I would finally post one with books that are still to be released for the rest of the year. All these books are ones I am really excited to read and are by authors I love. Some of these are from on going series and others are stand alones or the beginning of one. There are 10 books on my list to share with you all and they are:
My Plain Jane (Second book in The Lady Janies) by Cynthia Hand, Jodi Meadows and Brodi Ashton – 26th of June
The Darkest Star(First book in Origin) by Jennifer L. Armentrout – 30th of October
We Three Heroes(Novella in The Medoran Chronicles) by Lynette Noni – 1st of September
Kingdom of Ash (Seventh book in The Throne of Glass) by Sarah J. Maas – 23rd of October
Stygian (Twenty Ninth book in The Dark Hunters) by Sherrilyn Kenyon – 28th of August
Escaping from Houdini (Third book in Stalking Jack the Ripper) by Kerri Maniscalco – 18th of September
The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy (Second book in the Guide series) by Mackenzi Lee – 2nd of October
Consumed (New Series) by J.R Ward – 2nd of October
Catwoman Soulstealer by Sarah J. Maas – 7th of August
An Easy Death by Charlaine Harris – 1st of October
I am really excited to read The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy and Escaping from Houdini. I have been counting down the days for both of these books and the authors are now favourites of mine.
I would love to know what books people are looking forward to for the rest of 2018.
This month has been quite a month for sickness and health issues for me, so I have been spending a lot of time on bed rest. The one good thing about all this is I got SO MUCH reading done this month. Not only did I read all the books on my TBR and the bonus books, I also read more. I ended up completing 15 books for the month. YES you heard right 15, even I am in shock with how much I read for the month of May. Not only did I read a large number of books I also enjoyed so many of them and gave most of them 4 or 5 stars on Goodreads.
My LONG list of books I read :
The Carnivorous Carnival by Lemony Snicket pgs. 286 – 4 STARS
About that Kiss by Jill Shalvis pgs. 349 – 5 STARS
The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey pgs. 320 – 3 STARS
The Good Girls by Sara Shepard pgs. 368 – 3 STARS
A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas pgs. 699 – 5 STARS
Leah on the Offbeat by Becky Albertalli pgs. 368 – 5 STARS
Graevale by Lynette Noni pgs. 454 – 5 STARS
Blood Fury by J.R Ward pgs. 411 – 5 STARS
My Lady Jane by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton and Jodi Meadows pgs. 491 – 4 STARS
The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson pgs. 519 – 5 STARS
The Good Luck Sister by Jill Shalvis pgs. 147 – 5 STARS
Hunting Prince Dracula by Kerri Maniscalco pgs. 434 – 4 STARS
A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J. Maas pgs. 272 – 4 STARS
Lady Mary by Lucy Worsley pgs. 384 – 3 STARS
Ready Player One by Ernest Cline pgs. 374 – 3.5 STARS
TOTAL PAGE COUNT : 5, 876
I only just added up my page count and I can not even get my brain around that number. It is hard to pick my favourite book for the month with so many amazing reads but if I had to I would say Blood Fury by J.R Ward. Every time I read one of her books I can not put it down and this one was no different. My least favourite would have to be Lady Mary by Lucy Worsley and the only reason I would choose this one is because I just had very little knowledge of Tudor history and I think I would of enjoyed it more if I had known more.
I am so happy with the books I read this month and I hope next month I enjoy the books I read as much as the month of May. What was your favourite book for this month ? and have you read any of the books I read this month ? I would love to hear what your thoughts are on any of them.
Bye for now and I will see you again soon with my June TBR.
Now we are in the month of May (yes you heard right MAY) another TBR is coming your way. I am still in shock that May is already here, I have no idea why the year seems to be going by so quick. Due to last month completing my TBR pile I am hopeful that I will complete this one as well. I am also adding two bonus books so if I finish my TBR I have other books I want to get started on. So in total I will have 10 books I want to complete, 8 main books and 2 bonus books.
My list is as followed:
The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey Pgs. 320
Graevale by Lynette Noni pgs. 403
The Carnivorous Carnival by Lemony Snicket pgs. 286
About that Kiss by Jill Shavis pgs. 349
A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas pgs. 699
Blood Fury by J.R. Ward pgs. 411
The Good Girls by Sara Shepard pgs. 368
Ready Player One by Ernest Cline pgs. 374
Leah on the Offbeat by Becky Albertalli pgs. 368
My Lady Jane by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton and Jodi Meadows pgs. 497
I am so excited to get to some of these books and others I am still not 100% sold on but I need to read them for either book club picks or to finish a series. Hopefully they are better than I am expecting and have another high rating reading month.
Well I better go an get reading. I have a few books I really need to get to and my TBR pile is getting bigger and bigger. So my Saturday night I plan to cuddle up with my cat and my books and get reading. What are your plans this weekend ?
Welcome to another monthly wrap up. I can not believe we are already at the end of another month already. I had another amazing reading month for April. Not only did I read all the books I had on my TBR list but I also read another 4 books. In total I read 12 books, 2 Manga’s, 1 Novella and 9 Novels. I also completed another TOME off my list that I wanted to complete by the end of the year. Now onto the books I read in the month of April.
The Stories of Edgar Allan Poe by Stacy King and Edgar Allan Poe pgs. 308 – 3 STARS
The Hostile Hospital by Lemony Snicket pgs. 272 – 4 STARS
14th Deadly Sin by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro pgs. 384 – 4 STARS
Mortal Coil by Derek Landy pgs. 604 – 5 STARS

The Darkest Whisper by Gena Showalter pgs. 406 – 4 STARS
Fashionably Flawed by Robyn Peterman pgs. 240 – 4 STARS
A Fashionably Dead Diary by Robyn Peterman pgs. 94 – 4 STARS
Total Page Count : 3,863 pages
This months favourite read would have to be Simon Vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda. I loved that book so much and I wanted to see it so badly in the Cinema but in my area of where I live had very few viewing times. Not only is this a quick read but it was also a fun read. I loved so many characters in this book and how each one was so different and dealt with real issues that people face and how that effects friendships/relationships. I am beyond excited to read Leah on the Offbeat by Becky Albertalli as I love the idea of spending more time with the characters from Simon Vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda.
I also want to mention in this blog I am so very sorry I have not posted much this month. Not only did my laptop die (still waiting to get it back) but I also have had a few health issues that have left me really sick again. I love blogging about books and I hate I have not been able to do it more. My goal for this month is to try and get more content out even with the issues I am having. I am going to another book signing this month so I am hoping to write about that. I also plan on doing my May TBR and I plan of reading Ready Player One which I also saw in the cinema so I would love to write about which one I liked more and why.
That is all for now, I hope you all had a great reading month and would love to hear what you read this month.
April is here and I can’t get over how quick the months are going by and I am sure April will fly by just like the rest of the months so far. Last month I had a great reading month and managed to read 14 books and managed to read all but 1 book on my March TBR list. So knowing I managed to stick to it I want to keep doing a TBR list each month so I can keep up to date with the series I need to read. This month I plan to complete 8 books off my TBR list on Goodreads.
So here is my list of books I want to complete in the month of April
The Hostile Hospital by Lemony Snicket pgs. 272
Dragonsworn by Sherrilyn Kenyon pgs. 336
14th Deadly Sin by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro pgs. 384
Mortal Coil by Derek Landy pgs. 604
The Darkest Whisper by Gena Showalter pgs. 406
Archangel’s Viper by Nalini Singh pgs. 361
Simon vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli pgs. 303
Fashionably Flawed by Robyn Peterman pgs. 240
I am really excited to read all these books and my next issue to tackle is which book to read first. At the end of the month, I will let you know how I went with my TBR and my star ratings for these books. I am also hoping this month I can also post reviews for some of these books on my page.
I hope you all have a great reading month and I would love to hear about the books you plan to read.
April is upon us and March is almost over (or is over depending on when this goes up). Earlier in March, I put up a blog with my March TBR and I am really happy that I managed to read all but one of the books on that list (and some not it). In March I managed to read 15 books, which I still can not get over and I am very happy with. Most of the books I read were 4-star ratings or above so it was a pretty good reading month all round.
So now onto the books, I read in the month of March
I Have Lost My Way by Gayle Forman pgs. 368 – 4 STARS
The Break by Marian Keyes pgs. 576 – 5 STARS
Unlucky 13 by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro pgs. 384 – 4 STARS
Red Rising by Pierce Brown pgs. 382 – 5 STARS
Down Among the Sticks and Bones by Seanan McGuire pgs. 189 – 5 STARS
Beneath the Sugar Sky by Seanan McGuire pgs. 174 – 4 STARS
Three’s A Charm by Robyn Peterman pgs. 204 – 4 STARS
Forbidden Temptation by Teresa Gabelman pgs. 185 – 5 STARS
Obsidio by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman pgs 615 – 5 STARS
Ace of Shades by Amanda Foody pgs. 416 – 4 STARS
Dragonmark by Sherrilyn Kenyon pgs. 344 – 4 STARS
The Ersatz Elevator by Lemony Snicket pgs. 259 – 4 STARS
The Vile Village by Lemony Snicket pgs. 272 – 4 STARS
Everlife by Gena Showalter pgs. 304 – 5 STARS
Dearest Ivie by J.R Ward pgs. 145 – 5 STARS
TOTAL PAGE COUNT: 4,817
Looking at that page count number I am in shock, I didn’t realize I read that much this month. I am also happy I managed to read 2 TOMES that I had on my list to read by the end of the year (that leaves 8 more to finish in 2018). All these books I loved for one reason or another so it explains why I read so much. I will be also posting my April TBR in the next couple of days and I hope I do just as well as I did for the month of March.
So what did everyone else read for the month of March? Have you found any new Favourites?
This month Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman’s book Obsidio was released. Obsidio is the final book in the Illuminae series, which has become one of my favourite series. When I found out The YA Chronicles decided to bring out a limited edition box for Obsidio I jumped on it. The YA Chronicles are an Australian based company who have created book boxes that are sent out each month. Each month has a theme and the items in that box reflect that and each box has a new release book and other bookish goodies inside. I have been getting The YA Chronicles boxes for a while now and love what is in them so the idea of a box dedicated to Obsidio had me very excited.
Now before reading on I will be showing what I got in my box so if you have one on the way or want to order one (they only have the ones with the goodies, not the book left for sale) maybe skip this part.
My box came with the Obsidio and a signed bookplate with both author’s signatures on it as well as five other goodies. The first thing I noticed in the box was a custom book sleeve made by Between the Pages. I was in love with the book sleeve straight away, the galaxy print used was amazing. The second thing I noticed was a custom candle that smelt amazing made by The Book Hangover.
The next item I pulled out was a custom bracelet made by Charmed Fiction, which fits amazing and I love the two charms on it. The second to last item I pulled out was a little envelope with art prints of the characters in the series created by Megan Jeong. The last item was a paper rose that was made out of pages from Illuminae created by A Little Touch of Books.
I was so happy with what I got in my box like I always am with all their boxes and I am already using the goodies. Anyone who loves books and other bookish goodies should go over to The YA Chronicles page and look at getting a box you won’t regret it.
Well, I am going to go enjoy my Easter long weekend with a good book. What is everyone else doing for the Easter long weekend? I would love to hear all about it.
I just realized I never posted what I read for ReadByZoes readathon which I took part in on the 3rd of March. I posted a blog talking about my TBR for the readathon and I had 5 books on my list to try and get too. I knew I probably would only get to a couple of them but I want to make sure I had some spares on there just in case I didn’t feel like reading a certain one on the day.
I stayed up for 20 hours of the 24 and I have to say by the end of it my eyes hurt so much. I didn’t help that I was sick and should have been sleeping. In saying that I did manage to read 4 out of the 5 books I had on my TBR which I was really happy with. The books I read were as followed.
Down Among the Sticks and Bones by Seanan McGuire pgs.189
Beneath the Sugar Sky by Seanan McGuire pgs. 174
Three’s a Charm by Robyn Peterman pgs.204
Forbidden Temptation by Teresa Gableman pgs.185
Total Pages Read: 752
I am really happy with the number of pages I read considering I was unwell at the time. All the books were part of a series I had been reading before the readathon and I enjoyed each book that I finished.
I am really glad I could finally take part of one of the readathons and I can not wait until the next one. Did anyone else take part? and what did you read if you did?
Last night I was lucky enough to meet Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff for their tour of Obsidio. As I live in Adelaide we get very little Authors touring here so when I saw that they were I jumped on it. Even though I have been a huge reader I am sad to say this is the first book signing I have been to. I am so glad that this was my first one because it did not disappoint. Amie and Jay are so engaging and incredibly funny even after a long night they still managed to be so incredibly friendly. Even my husband who has not read the books enjoyed listening to them speak and decided on reading them because of what they said, even though I had been begging him to read them for over 8 months.
The Illuminae trilogy had me addicted from the start and I am so sad to see it ending, so much so that I am scared to read the last book because I am not ready for it to be over. At the same time, I want to read it all tonight because I need to know what happens next. Anyone who has not read this series needs to get onto it asap. Illuminae is the first book in the trilogy and you can find out more about the book using the link above.
This experience was amazing and I really hope they come back to Adelaide again when they release their new series together. It was also really amazing to see so many different age groups be so excited about the same book, it shows how great a trilogy it really is.
I am off now to start reading Obsidio, what is everyone else reading at the moment?
I thought I would do something different for this blog and let you know what got me into reading. Reading is something I very much enjoy to do but it has also been a place I can escape to when things are stressful or scary. I never was into reading as a young child, it wasn’t till I was 12 and I started noticing how my family did not act like a normal family. I should add I grew up in a house where drugs and alcohol were used on a day to day basis and abuse happened verbally and physically.
When I started noticing this and realizing it was not normal and books became a new escape for me. I started reading The Baby Sitter Club books by Ann M Martin and Paul Jennings. I had so many of those books and always had my head in a book once I started reading. Since that moment books became a big part of my life and I have used them in the same way as I did back then even as a 33-year-old woman.
My life has not been easy and I know if it was not for my love of books I do not think I would have survived a lot of my hardships. I am so grateful I found books I loved when I was a child and I found a healthy way of coping with my family situation.
You are probably wondering why I am sharing such a personal story and the reason is I want anyone who reads my blogs to know who I really am and I want people to trust that this blog is a safe place to talk about books and what they mean to you. I also want my readers to know if you are going through hard times to find something you love doing so you can get through those moments. Mine just happened to be a book and I am sure others have found books to help them too.
I hope you all are having a great start to the week and I would love to hear what got you into reading.
